Nissan Motor India said it has started taking orders across its 20 dealerships for the diesel variant Micra, which is expected to go on sale before Christmas this year.

The car comes in two variants, XV at 6 lakhs and XV premium at 6.45 lakhs. XV premium variant comes loaded with premium features like leather covers, alloy wheels and spoilers.

The Nissan dealerships across the country have commenced booking orders for the diesel variant in a phased manner starting Monday. A comprehensive multimedia ad campaign has also been launched to support this activity.

“The success of petrol variant of Micra in the domestic market has given us huge confidence to introduce the diesel variant within six-months from the launch of petrol version.

We are confident that the diesel-powered Micra would fulfill the discerning needs of Indian customers,” Nissan Motor India Managing Director and CEO Kiminobu Tokuyama said.

Nissan launched the petrol variant of its first made-in-India global compact car Micra (global compact hatchback) in July this year at its factory in Oragadam, Chennai.
